Here is what it is.
Working in front of ProTools as usual, I have two ways to access what I'm doing :
1. My computer screen, which displays something like this :
2. What gets out of the speakers.
It's not a new issue - if I was living one century ago, I would have the same kind of choice, between my score :
... and what gets out of the piano or whatever.
Perceiving the music via the computer screen or the score instead of via what we hear is what is referred to as visu-audition.
